• What is Collective Avenue Coffee?

Collective Avenue Coffee is a pop-up stand that provides specialty coffee, lattes and teas in a variety of locations. We are a worker-owned cooperative that pops up anywhere we are called upon in the community from Zumba classes, to polling venues, to festivals and more. Additionally, we host local events like our monthly Last Fridays.

  • What is Collective Avenue’s mission?

Our mission is to become the first worker-owned cooperative coffee shop in Los Angeles county that focuses on providing teens and young adults a space to enjoy quality coffee and express themselves through music, art and civic engagement.

  • Why make Collective Avenue a cooperative?

Worker cooperatives are worker-owned businesses that are run by the people who work in them and operate for the benefit of these members. Every member is paid equally and treated fairly. There is no hierarchy or bureaucratic establishment that oversees the day-to-day operations. It’s a group of people who pull their knowledge and resources together to run a small business.

  • What products does Collective Avenue offer?

We serve a variety of hot and cold beverages beyond the scope of caffeinated drinks. This includes: espressos, lattes (available in vanilla, lavender, Vietnamese and mocha), tea (black and green), as well as pour over and cold brew coffee.

  • What is Last Fridays?

Last Fridays brings together the power of local artistic talent with our specialty coffee to create a vibrant space for all Lynwood community members. From live performances, to artistic booths and delicious coffee, this event celebrates the diverse talents of the Lynwood community. As the name suggests, the event takes place on the Last Friday of every month at BALAM Mexican Kitchen. While BALAM is an avid supporter, they do not facilitate or plan Last Fridays. We, at Collective Avenue, conduct widespread talent searches for local artists, business owners, musicians and other community organizations that we can showcase at Last Fridays.

  • How can I collaborate/support?

We are currently in the process of securing a space in the Lynwood community where people can enjoy our specialty coffee and events on a regular basis. If you are interested in donating or volunteering, please reach out to us via e-mail at: collectiveavenuecoffee@gmail.com.
